The Networks IP Division, From Alcatel – Lucent in Antwerp, Belgium is focusing on Our IP portfolio that has been architected from inception to enable the creation, delivery, and monetization of IPbased network services across the residential, enterprise and mobile service domains.
Alcatel-Lucent products: The 7450 Ethernet Service Switch , 7710 Service Router , 7750 Service Router and 7950 Extensible Routing System are successful, high performance equipments.

With the ever expanding internet (50% bandwidth growth each year), the convergences of the fixed and the mobile world, the explosion of video related applications, the 4th generation of mobile communications, we are looking at growing our R&D team substantially.
We are looking for experienced individuals that want to work in a team with highly skilled and motivated colleagues.
You will:
◊ Do the testing of a number of features you signed up for.
◊ You will have the final responsibility to decide if these features and the router can be shipped to our customers.
◊ You will also guard the overall product quality once deployed Goal
◊ to gain a lot of complex knowledge in a short time frame as you need to become an expert in a number of specific internet areas and get a good overview of all functionality within an internet router,
◊ follow-up the evolutions in the internet world
◊ be in close contact with the hardware and software developers, the product managers, the sales and presales, people and the support teams,
◊ understand the challenges of a real-time operating system and have a feeling for weaknesses in software and hardware designs,
◊ be very creative in order to simulate complex real-live situations and overcome any constraints
Qualifications
Technical background and experience
◊ You have an engineering degree or a degree in computer science
◊ Experiences with Linux, with IP networking, with programming languages (preferably scripting languages such as TCL, Python, Perl, bash) and with network test tools are
considered assets.
◊ You might want to work with us if you’re genuinely interested in computer networking and in SW testing for realtime systems, you are creative and highly efficient and you speak and write English fluently
